First up the Gallifrey Double Sunrise! A sweet and tart cocktail with a cherry kick to it that rounds it out very nicely.

Second up Regeneration Energy! Sometimes you just need to sit back, recover and regain yourself. What better way to do that then with time lord energy? this has a very sweet and understated taste that will give you the energy to keep on going through waves of daleks.

“There’s a lot of things you need to get across this universe. Warp drive… wormhole refractors… You know the thing you need most of all? You need a hand to hold.”  -The 10th Doctor

ChristMMOs: League of Legends: Eggnog Health & Mana Potions

Difficulty: 2 Hearts

Merry ChristMMOs! This festive season, Gourmet Gaming will be celebrating with a selection of treats from your favourite MMOs to bring a little bit of gaming to your table this holiday season.

The League of Legends seasonal event is known as the “Snowdown Showdown”. During this time, many festive fares slip into the world with one of the regular changes being the trade-in of the traditional Health and Mana potions for ones of the Eggnog variety! Here in the UK, Eggnog isn’t very popular. So when I saw my chance to taste the drink that saturated my favourite Christmas cartoons and movies as a kid, I couldn’t turn it down.

Green, Red, and Yellow Herbs (Resident Evil shots)
Ingredients:Green Herb: 1 part Midori1 part Green Apple Pucker___
Red Herb:1 part Grenadine1 part 5 Hour Energy - Berry flavored___
Yellow Herb:1 part Gold rum (Bacardi Gold used)1 part Honey bourbon (American Honey used)
Directions: For each individual shot, simply mix ingredients in a test tube shot glass. To create herb combinations, mix the shots up in separate glasses, the layer them according to density. Red is the heaviest and will always go on the bottom, Green is the next heaviest, and Yellow is the lightest. For the best effect when layering, make sure all your ingredients are chilled beforehand. Tilt the test tubes and pour the shots in so that they slide down the side of the tube.
Notes: I’ve had the idea for these shots for almost as long as The Drunken Moogle has existed, but refused to do so until I got the proper glassware. I modeled the herbs after my favorite Resident Evil game, Resident Evil 4. Green- The basic herb. It’s nice nice and soothing.Red- The catalyst herb. Alone, it will do nothing for you (thus the lack of alcohol and addition of caffeine in this shot), but mix it with a green herb and you’ll get something new.Yellow- The stat increase herb. This shot won’t increase your overall health, but it’s certainly the strongest herb out of the three shots. Mix it with Green or both Green and Red for a strength boost.

Dr. Horrible Cocktail Set
Freeze Ray - Dr. Horrible:1 oz Vodka1.5 oz Creme de mentheSprite (~5 oz)
Directions: Fill a highball glass with crushed ice. Add in the alcoholic ingredients and fill with Sprite (around 5 oz). Stir, serve and stop the world.
“This is the one. Stops time. Freeze Ray. Tell your friends.” - Dr. Horrible___
The Hammer - Captain Hammer:1 oz Captain Morgan Spiced Rum1 oz Whiskey1 oz Peach schnappsRoot Beer
Directions: Mix alcoholic ingredients in a lowball glass over ice. Fill with your favorite root beer. Flex, serve, and be awesome.
“I don’t go to the gym, I’m just naturally like this.” - Captain Hammer___
Crazy Random Happenstance - Penny:1/2 cup Strawberry Frozen Yogurt2 oz RumChata rum cream.5 oz Amaretto5 Strawberries4 Ice cubes
Directions: Set aside one strawberry and blend the rest of the items. Pour into a large glass and garnish with the remaining strawberry. Serve and stay positive.
“We would be able to provide 250 new beds, get people off the streets and into job training so they could… buy rocket packs and go to the moon and become florists…” - Penny ___
Notes: I had a ton of  fun creating these drinks. Two years ago I saw Dr. Horrible on a whim and fell in love with it. I am anxiously awaiting the sequel!Freeze Ray - To keep with the freezing theme, I wanted to have a drink with lots of ice and a minty flavor. The Hammer - What is there to say about the Captain Hammer? He’s strong, not too bright, and kind of a wimp without his powers. The Captain Morgan and whiskey make a strong drink, but the peach schnapps reveals a hidden layer under the hardness. Be careful, as this cocktail might be sweet, but it will hit you like a hammer. Crazy Random Happenstance - I couldn’t make a drink for Penny without including frozen yogurt. I’m very happy with how the glass I used is similar in size and shape to a frozen yogurt cup. This drink is sweet, innocent, and a perfect treat to give to a laundromat buddy.

The Golden Goddesses (The Legend of Zelda shots)

Ingredients:
Naru’s Love-
1 part UV Blue
1 part Di Amore Quattro
1 part Sprite

Din’s Fire-
1 part Yukon Jack
1 part Fireball Cinnamon Whisky
1 part UV Cherry

Farore’s Wind-

1 part Creme de banana
1 part UV Blue
1 part of Rose’s Lime juice

Directions: For each drink, pour all ingredients into a double shot glass and mix gently. Best when served chilled.

A note from the drink’s creator:

The Golden Goddesses. The most powerful creatures in the myths and folklore, they created the world and everything it holds. They bestowed three gifts upon Link to aid on his quest against Ganandorf. We created a series of shots to honor these deities that bound and built the land of Hyrule. you can either do them one after another or just pick your favorite and do it solo. Either way, we are sure you will enjoy these very well crafted shots.

Naru, who poured her wisdom onto the earth and gave the spirit of law to the world. This shoot is smooth, sweet, and gives you a nice arm feeling all throughout.

Din, who with her strong flaming arms, cultivated the land and created the red earth. To encapsulated this shot as best as possible, we gave it a smooth start, a little kick in the middle, and a strong fiery after punch.

Farore, whose rich soul produced all life forms, who would uphold the law. With a calming neutral citrus burst to balance out the tastes and bring them all together.

“If the heart of the one who holds the sacred triangle has all three forces in balance, that one will gain the True Force to govern all. But, if that one’s heart is not in balance, the Triforce will separate into three parts: Power, Wisdom and Courage.” ~Zelda

  5. Enjoy and fight the reapers

So this is the first in our line of Customizable cocktails. In the mass effect trilogy you get to make your own choices that effect the game in various ways. What better way to do that then to let you customize the cocktail in the way you want.

First step choose do you prefer the bold brashness of Commander Shepard, or do you like the ass kicking sultry Fem Shep? After you make the cocktail of your choosing you have to decide how do you wanna handle things? Do you prefer to be sweet and heroic, or do you want to be a hardcore badass who gets things done your own way? After deciding pour your alignment shot in the cocktail and you are set to go. So enjoy, kill some reapers and maybe being a tad tipsy will take away some of the sting of the much hated series ending.

“I’m commander Shepard and these are my favorite drinks on the citadel.” ~Shepard
